PSA MEDICAL ADVISORY COUNCIL

  Khamid Bakhadirov, MD MSc is a Neurohospitalist and Director of Stroke Service at Santa Clara Kaiser Medical Center. He completed his Internship at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, New York. For his residency in Neurology, he attended Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School. Dr. Bakhadirov completed his Fellowship in Vascular Neurology (stroke) with special attention to Neurological Critical Care at Massachusetts General Hospital.

Nobl Barazangi, MD, PhD is the Medical Director for Stroke at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco.  Dr. Barazangi received her medical degree and Ph.D. in neurophysiology at Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons. She completed her Neurology residency and fellowship in Neurocritical Care and Vascular Neurology at the University of California, San Francisco.

 

Joey English, MD, PhD is the Stroke Medical Director at Mills-Peninsula Medical Center.  He received a PhD in molecular neuroscience and MD from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.  He completed residency training in Neurology and fellowship training in Stroke Neurology and Neurocritical Care at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF).  He specializes in the diagnosis and minimally-invasive treatment of vascular disease of the brain and spine.

Meagan Littlepage, MD is a California native and physiatrist who completed her Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency and Spinal Cord Injury fellowship at Stanford.  After serving as the attending physician of the Polytrauma Unit at the Palo Alto VA, she joined the Acute Rehab Unit at El Camino Hospital in 2012. She is also affiliated with the Acute Rehab Unit at Saint Francis Memorial Hospital, two local skilled nursing facilities, and an Oncology Survivorship Program

 

Reza Malek M.D., MsC is currently Chief of Neurointerventional Radiology at Good Samaritan Hospital in San Jose and Co -Stroke Medical Director at El Camino Health. He completed medical school at Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University in 1991 and continued his internship and a diagnostic radiology residency at the Medical Center of Delaware. He completed a cardiovascular and interventional radiology fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School.

Vivek Rao, MD is the Director Neurointensive Care Unit at the Comprehensive Stroke Center – Kaiser Permanente, Redwood City and Medical Director for Complex Stroke care across Kaiser Permanente, Northern California. He attended medical school at the University of Pennsylvania before attending the Neurologic Institute  at Columbia University. He completed his fellowship in vascular neurology and neurocritical care at UCSF. He has served on PSA’s Medical Advisory Council since 2006.

Chitra Venkatasubramanian MBBS, MD, MSc, FNCS is a Clinical Professor of Neurology at Stanford University and a Fellow of the Neurocritical Care Society. She specializes in stroke and neurocritical care and cares for patients in the neuroICU, ER and clinic with acute neurological issues. She has published and lectured nationally and internationally on these topics.
